Since the modern Arab Awakening, which soon swept across the entire Muslim world, with the efforts of Jamal al-Din al-Afghani (d. 1897CE) and Muammad ‘Abduh (d. 1905CE), the Muslim masses have used the slogan of ‘application of Islamic shariah´ to propound to the masses, the alternative which they hoped would take them to the enjoyment of a free and honourable life. The iconic writer is captured in several symbolic locations in the city, where he was living at the time, including the Place de la Bastille. Překlad Koránu od Ivana Hrbka je již třetí v pořadí a patří k těm nejlépe hodnoceným, neboť překladatel si byl vědom chyb a nedostatků v předešlých překladech (Čeština A.R.Nykl, stručný komentáře I.Veselého) a vyvaroval se jich. Jeho text je používán jak orientalisty a odborníky na islám, tak i česky mluvícími muslimy.
