R.I.P Darell Mason aka DOT-A-ROCK





Mason played a role in hip-hop's earliest days as a member of the Bronx groups the Mighty Force crew, The Cold Crush Brothers and the Fantastic Five, also known as the Fantastic Freaks or the Fantastic Romantic 5 MCs, performing with Grandwizard Theodore. 

 The Fantastic Five were best known for their 1982 single "Can I Get a Soul Clap" and appeared in the film Wild Style.

Hasan Al-Banna preceded with his work and thus left an imprint on many attempts in the years between the two wars, and especially after the Second World War, to constitute an Islamic order as the supreme political and social ideal. The publication under review contains his five studies translated into English by well-known Arabist and historian Charles Wendell. These are his most often cited essays - Between Yesterday and Today, Our Mission, To What Do We Summon Mankind?, Toward The Light and On Jihad. The main idea is always oriented toward the creation of an Islamic order (an-nizam al-islami). Hasan Al-Banna sees in Islam the only teaching that can ensure social progress and well-being and that is the key to the resolving of all basic problems of mankind. Několik set lidí tísnících se v obrovské kopuli podzemního města marně čeká na přílet smyšlené „archy“, která by je odvezla do bezpečí. Stejně jako u předešlých Szulkinových filmů (Golem, Válka světů – příští století) neslouží prvky žánru sci-fi k oslavě technického pokroku, ale jsou varováním před možným katastrofickým vývojem současné společnosti. Režisér zde vytváří sugestivní obraz destrukce způsobené vědou a úpadkem morálních hodnot. Jeho hrdinové, zoufalí a osamělí ve své snaze změnit zaběhnutý systém, se ocitají v mezních, často groteskních situacích. Szulkinův osobitý styl a poetika hodně těží z výtvarné složky filmu, používající působivé prvky ošklivosti a rozkladu. Výsledkem je stísňující atmosféra plná beznaděje. Szulkinovy filmy přesto nepostráda...
