Překlad Koránu od Ivana Hrbka je již třetí v pořadí a patří k těm nejlépe hodnoceným, neboť překladatel si byl vědom chyb a nedostatků v předešlých překladech (Čeština A.R.Nykl, stručný komentáře I.Veselého) a vyvaroval se jich. Jeho text je používán jak orientalisty a odborníky na islám, tak i česky mluvícími muslimy.

Hasan Al-Banna preceded with his work and thus left an imprint on many attempts in the years between the two wars, and especially after the Second World War, to constitute an Islamic order as the supreme political and social ideal. The publication under review contains his five studies translated into English by well-known Arabist and historian Charles Wendell. These are his most often cited essays - Between Yesterday and Today, Our Mission, To What Do We Summon Mankind?, Toward The Light and On Jihad. The main idea is always oriented toward the creation of an Islamic order (an-nizam al-islami). Hasan Al-Banna sees in Islam the only teaching that can ensure social progress and well-being and that is the key to the resolving of all basic problems of mankind. In the above-mentioned essays he tries to explain why, in his opinion, the establishment of an Islamic order is inevitable. "Byly jsme tam taky" Dagmar Šimková

Dagmar Šimková (*23. 5. 1929 - 24. 2. 1995) byla 14 let nespravedlivě vězněná komunistickým režimem; v elitní společnosti mj. profesorky Růženy Vackové, skautské aktivistky Dagmar Skálové či katolické spisovatelky Niny Svobodové. Po návratu na svobodu sejí podařilo emigrovat společně s maminkou za sestrou do Austrálie. Studovala umění, historii, archeologii, psychologii a sociologii. Ve spolupráci s Amnesty International se věnovala pomoci vězněným lidem. Pracovala také jako kaskadérka u filmu a uspořádala výstavy svých výtvarných prací. Po listopadu 1989 několikrát navštívila Prahu. Zemřela v Austrálii a je pochována v Perthu.

" (1966) ✻ Dějiny umění (moderna, postmoderna, avantgarda, tradice) ✻ "Ponoříme-li se do literatury o umění, která v 18. století hovořila o umění nejraději jako o ideálu, přičemž jednotlivá díla o tom mohla vždy jen svědčit, zatímco v 19. století vznik „dějin umění“ zase redukoval veškerá díla na doklady, a to průběhu stylu, vývoje atd. V obou případech byla díla spíše sekundárními tématy bádání, zaostávajícími za primárními tématy jako „uměním“ nebo „dějinami. Až později, snad teprve po válce, kdy současné umění stále nemilosrdněji zpochybňovalo pojem díla, se váhavě uznalo, že studium umění získalo svou skutečnou věrohodnost z vlastnictví děl."
